Favors

So we have decided to do a candy buffet, as wedding favors. We both love candy, Rick more so than I, but being the planner that I am, I am totally in love with the idea. Here is a picture of what I want to re create, in our colors exactly.

I have just finished making the thank you tags for the Chinese take out boxes that everyone will scoop their favorite goodies into:

The tags are actually bigger, and more ledgable :) I am really looking foward to how our guest will react to this! I hope they enjoy it as much as we will! :)

The Girls

I like to introduce my girls my friends who mean the world to me and who has deceided to stand up for me on my Wedding Day!

My Wonderful MOH-Crystal Cochrum

This is Crystal with her beautiful daughter Taylor, whom I am completely in love with. The second picture is Crystal with her husband Brett.
She has been a great Matron of Honor, and I am so happy she agreed to be my MOH.

Second is my friend Stacy:

Here she is with her husband Dan on their 10 year ANA (I think), and the next picture is of her family, Dan, Brooke & Emily, what a beautiful family. Stacy and I have first met in High School. We got in touch again in 2003, she has become a very close friend and confidant. I love her like a fat kid loves cake!

Next up is my long time friend Erin: Erin and I have been friends approximately 1998. We started working together at the good ole Sutton Place Hotel. We played softball together, drank together, our kids went to kindergarten together and first grade together, we became roomates until it was time for her to move back home to the East Coast. We have vacationed together, NYC, DC, Orlando. Oh what fun times they were. I miss my friend, and wish oh wish things were different and she could be out here with us or vice versa! I am excited she is coming out here and being apart of our wedding! (Erin and her daughter in pictured in the middle, wearing pink)

Next up is my friend Angela, we met when her and her husband David moved in next door to us! We have had some really great times, together in the 2 short years we have known each other. I miss living next door, but I am happy that both she and her husband David will be standing up for the both us on our day!

Last but certainly not least, is Cheryl. Cheryl is Rick's step sister. Over the last 3 years, Cheryl and I have become great friends. I am so happy that she will be my sister.

I feel like I have chosen well. If I may say so. I have alot of friends who look back on their wedding pictures years later and find that they are no longer friends with at least half of their wedding party. And to me that seems sad. My girls are friends who have seen not only the worst of times with me, but hopefully the Best as well. I look forward to growing old with all of these ladies and look back on all of the fun we have had over the years. I am so honored to call these women friends. So Cheers to you!

How We Met

Rick designed a web group for our up coming 20th High School Reunion. He invited a few of us from classmates.com to join his free group, so that we can get to know each other again and discuss our up coming reunion.
Rick was in Iraq at the time, but he would keep us updated on his status and his safety. Unfortunately, the USMC had other plans for Rick and his tour was extended a few more months which made him miss the reunion. We sent him pictures of the reunion so he would feel like he was there.
About 10 months later, I saw Rick online and I said hello he had finally made it home from Iraq. We made plans to go out the following weekend with a few of our fellow classmates and have our own mini reunion for Rick. As we hung out and got to know each other, over the next couple of months. Rick was given orders again to go back to Iraq for another 1 year tour that fall.
I realized that I had fell in love with him and I told him that I would wait for him to return he was happy and told me that he loved me as well. Over the course of the following year, we got to know each other the old fashion way via emails and long web chats each day. We both realized that we were made for each other and that God does anwser prayers!

The Proposal

December 22, 2007

HOW IT HAPPENED
We were getting ready to go out to dinner with some friends, when I walked into the bedroom to make sure he wasn't getting dressed up as I was in jeans and a sweatshirt.

He was standing at his dresser when I asked "Are you ready"? He said "Yes, but I need you to do me a favor"? I said "ok what" and he came towards me and said "will you marry me?"

I was shocked, because I had all but given up on trying to figure out when he was gonna ask me. But I am extremely happy that he did! :)
